The girls did an amazing job generating buzz and attention, even offering an exclusive CD release with Victoria’s Secret, and did a decent job selling tickets in the US. As the concert moved to Canada and Europe ticket sales faltered, and dates were postponed and rescheduled. The girls have finally announced that they will be canceling any dates after February 26th, the official reason is “family and personal commitments”.

Anyone with a family can understand that the demands of a concert road trip are much harder to deal with when you are older and have a family. However if 80′s rock bands can put aside their personal differences when a reunion tour comes around, and coincidentally the money has usually run out, the spice girls could hire an extra nanny or two, if things were working as planned. Let’s be honest, a comeback tour, where the fans don’t comeback is a failure.

What’s the lesson here, if your primary audience was young teens, as they get older and mature, things they thought were cool turn out to be lame. Cultivating a new fan base takes years, especially with teens. So girls it was nice to see you, and I don’t suspect you’ll disappear, but you old dogs will have to learn some new tricks.

Actor Wesley Snipes known for his work in the popular Blade movie series, has been involved in long running and very public court case regarding his failure to pay taxes. According to the prosecution Snipes was charged with six counts of failing to file tax returns, two of fraudulently claiming tax refunds and one count of conspiracy to defraud the government on 38 million he made from 1998 to 2004. While Snipes was aquited of the more serious felony charges, but the jury did find him guilty of three misdemeanors, and he could be facing up to three years in jail. In a completely unrealted trial well known naked fat gay guy Survivor Million Dollar Winner Richard Hatch, who is serving a 4 year stint for not paying taxes, had his sentence upheld by a Boston Circuit Court of Appeals. Hatch claims he caught CBS employees giving food to other contestants and struck a deal that CBS was to pay his taxes if he won. Hatch never provided any evidence to back up his claims and CBS employees were never called to the stand. Wonder if “the snake” is going “au natural” in the big house …

This year’s Golden Globes ceremony will be canceled after actors vowed to boycott it in support of striking Hollywood.

On Monday, the L.A. Times website reported that the traditional red carpet (!), televised dinner and prize presentation had been canceled in favor of a basic press conference and a scaled back red carpet event instead. This was later confirmed by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).

The Golden Globes were supposed to be held in Beverly Hills on Sunday. The HFPA reached a compromise that allows the winners to receive their awards on Sunday informally. The winners will then be announced in a TV press conference instead of the usual star-studded ceremony.

The writers have been on strike since November 5th.

Well now, this takes Red Carpet Victim to a whole new level. Ingrid Marie Rivera, a veteran beauty pageant contestant, was allegedly sabotaged during Puerto Rico’s 2008 Miss Universe competition last week. At one point during the pageant, a bag with Rivera’s clothing, makeup, and credit cards had mysteriously disappeared, perhaps allowing the bad guys to do their deeds.

So just what did they do? Tainted Rivera’s makeup and clothing with a chemical solution believed to be pepper spray, of course. Poor Rivera broke out in hives and her face and body swelled. Amazingly, Rivera remained composed in front of the judges and cameras, but fled backstage to peel off her clothes as soon as she could.

Rivera’s first observed reaction was thought to be allergic, or perhaps due to nerves. After a second incident, however, there was a definite need to investigate.

“We noted that when she finished applying makeup and went to get on stage, she began to get red in the face, on the back and shoulders – everywhere she had applied makeup,” said pageant spokesman Harold Rosario.

Rosario also speculates that the promoters and makeup artists of Rivera’s competition were behind the deed.

Evidently, beauty competitions in the U.S. Caribbean territory are fierce, garnering overtly-passionate audiences and spawning accusations of rigged results.

Rivera had the last laugh, however. She beat all 29 of the other contestants to take home the crown. So take that, big meanies!

The Spice Girls will begin their world reunion tour on December 2nd in Vancouver, Canada. The tour, which currently only has 10 dates, is already sold-out.

As part of the deal between Capital Music Group and Victoria’s Secret, the Spice Girls will perform at the “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” which is being televised on CBS on December 4th.

The Girls debuted in 1996 and have sold more than 55 million albums worldwide.

Sexy Pop superstar Beyonce has cancelled her concert in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. She changed the venue to Jakarta Indonesia on November 1st 2007.

Seems the Malaysian officials didn’t like the skimpy and revealing clothing the pop superstar usually wears, and made demands that she cover up.

The Diva had no choice and went “to the left, to the left” … (checks Google maps for Indonesia and Malaysia … crap) … “to the right, to the right…“
