Fashion Forward Trends in Outerwear
Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007
This fall expect outerwear to be a little more glamorous. From fur to feathers and everything in between, look for bold, chic styles that make a statement. Look for coats and jackets made with luxurious fabrics with fun trims, collars and other details.
Fur Accents
Fur is big for for fall as evidenced on the runways, in fashion magazines and at stores around the country. Not full length fur coats mind you, but fitted leather coats with fur trim and accents are extremely popular. Consider buying a simple brown, black or gray car coat or trench with a fur collar.
Flashy Feathers
Feathers are another fashion trend. From dresses to hats to coats, you will see feathers in an array of colors emerging. Check out the video below about how to wear (and how not to wear) feathers. As with fur, less is more.
Motorcycle Chic
Choose black and brown leather motorcycle jackets with plenty of zippers and buckles. These type of jackets give a tough edge to all the latest fashions. If you wear a motorcycle jacket with jeans, couple it with feminine shoes and dangling earrings to keep it feminine and sexy.
The jacket pictured is from Case Study and available at fine department stores nationwide.
