Floral sandals are very trendy this season. Whether you are talking about floral prints, floral appliques or jeweled floral embellishments, you will find flowers everywhere. Floral sandals are feminine shoes that are versatile enough that they can be worn for a variety of occasions. Here are a couple of my favorite floral sandals from Nordstrom in various price ranges. Gladiator Sandals - Are You Sick of Them Yet?

Friday, June 27th, 2008
Mia Godiva Gladiator Sandal

Everybody is wearing gladiator sandals. From celebrities on the red carpet to average Janes like me and you. Though, I have never been thrilled with the flat gladiator sandals, in recent months I’ve grown to love some of the high heel gladiator-inspired sandals.

Here are a few of my personal favorites, which are affordable too. You shouldn’t spend a bundle on gladiator sandals because the trend might fade away anytime. (more…)

Buying the Shoe Trends

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008
BCBG Iggy Bright Orange/Black Patent Dress Shoes

So the latest trend in shoes is bright patent finishes. The patent look has been popular for spring shoes for a couple of years but the added touch this year which gives it more eye popping appeal is the bright colors. I love this trend and just picked up a pair of turquoise stiletto heels. I wore them out with my girlfriends one night and received a ton of compliments and then I realized I didn’t really have another occasion to wear them. Sure, I’ll find a couple other occasions but I just dumped a ton of money on what basically amounts to a handful of compliments from my friends who don’t need to be impressed, they already like me.

How to Buy Shoes Online

Monday, March 17th, 2008

shoesYou can buy the world’s chicest shoe, the priciest shoe or the sexiest shoe in the universe, but it won’t do you any good whatsoever if it doesn’t fit. So the first thing you should know before buying shoes online is your size.

Now, if like me, you can’t pass a shoe department without at least trying on a pair, you probably know your size pretty well. But if you’re the sort of person who hates to shop, for shoes or anything else, you’ve got to get your feet measured. Because the sad fact is that your feet continue to grow long after the rest of you stops–by as much as half a size a year. And your foot size is also affected by weight gain or loss and pregnancy, which can change the shape of your foot completely. So get yourself to a shoe store and have the salesperson measure you.

Due Farina Shoes

Due Farina Shoes
Due Farina Shoes 2008 collection Jade Sleek Shoe

Shoes make the woman, and if not that, then they should at least make a statement. The Due Farina 2008 Collection makes a statement that is bold enough to carry you from boardroom to ballroom and then out to the bar. These sexy beauts combine just the right amount of sass with elegance and just a slight bit of Berlin circa 1920-1930.

Footwear trends

This year it’s all about the boot. Almost any boot style is a must have, but the bootie or ankle boot, popular several years ago, is a strong trend.

A trend that won

Walk on the Wild Side in Leopard Pumps

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

One of the hottest fashion items this season continues to be the leopard print pump.

Leopard print is something that should be worn sparingly - a nice leopard print shoe, handbag or top is great. Wearing leopard from head to toe isn’t!

Here are a few of my favorite leopard print pumps.

Annie Garnet Leopard Pump

Annie Garnet Leopard Pump
These affordable yet stylish shoes feature leopard print fabric, as well as buckle detailing across the vamp. The curvy stacked heel make them a very cute choice. And at only $44.95 from Zappos.com, you can beat the price.

Cole Haan Leopard Slingback Pump

Cole Haan Fiona Air Pony Hair Slingback Pump
I just love the femininity of the pointed toe and slingback style. These shoes feature cushioning from Nike Air, so you can be on your feet all day and still look chic. They are priced at $325 from Nordstrom.

Anne Klein Leopard Pump

Anne Klein New York Leopard Pump
These shoes feature classic styling. The heel is 2 1/2″ high - which is high enough but not too high. These are available right now at Saks Fifth Avenue for $240.

Manolo Blahnik Leopard Pump

Manolo Blahnik Leopard-Print Suede Mary Jane Pump
These Mary Janes look fabulous in this hot leopard print. The rich suede fabric is very luxurious. You can order these at NeimanMarcus.com for $545. Remember that Manolo Blahnik shoes run small, so order 1/2 size larger than you normally wear.

Spring 2008 Shock Value Shoes

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Have you checked out the Spring 2008 Ready-to-Wear accessory reports at Style.com? You really must!

Here you will find a variety of shoes, handbags and accessories from the top designers. Let’s take a closer look at some of the shoes you will find there.

Some are cute. Some are ugly. Some are eccentric. And then some are what I would term “Shock Value Shoes” - meaning the designer created them for shock value only. No one is actually going to wear these shoes.

First off, here are some of my new favorites that I actually would wear.

Lime Green Patent Pump from Brian Atwood

Colorful Silk Mule from Christian Louboutin

Pink and Black Ralph Lauren Phylisse Boot

Gold Paillette Platform from Sergio Rossi (I love these!)

Now here is a boot that I find simply atrocious. From Miu Miu, these boot features python on the toe and some obnoxious aqua cut-out pattern throughout the shaft. Ugh!

And then here are some of the Shock Value shoes:

This colorful Manolo Blahnik shoe will make you dizzy.

And probably the worst of the bunch - the Alessandro Dell’Acqua Platform Wedge …

Fashionable Winter Boots

Friday, November 9th, 2007

Stay in fashion this winter by adding a great pair of boots to your wardrobe.

Boots come in all shapes, styles and fabrics, from the elegant classics to the eccentric. Here are some of the most fashionable boot styles this winter.

Christian Louboutin Oxford BootiesOxford Booties
Booties are very popular this year. They are a mix of a boot and a shoe. Oftentimes booties feature a lace-up front - oxford style. The booties pictured here from Christian Louboutin are gorgeous. The gold piping trim gives them a metallic touch (also a big trend this season), while the shiny patent leather is glamorous and fashionable.

These boots are a luxury pick at $695 from Saks Fifth Avenue. Though they are expensive, you can’t go wrong with Christian Louboutin.

Fur Trimmed Brown BootsFur-Trimmed Boots
Fur trim is everywhere this season from coats to handbags, and of course boots too. These Naughty Monkey Anastasia boots are fashionable and fun.

They can be worn with a variety of different outfits. Tuck your pants or jeans into these boots or wear them with a knee length skirt to show off their style.

The boots feature a cute kitten heel and a plush fur collar around the shaft. You can even unsnap and fold the collar up. So not only are these boots fashionable, they are also warm.

These fur-trimmed boots are come in both brown and black. They are available at Endless.com for only $144.95.

Quilted Navigator BootEmbossed Leather Boots
Probably one of the biggest trends this season in boots is embossed and quilted leathers. Textured boots feature an array of patterns from snake-embossed leather to gentle quilting.

These Stuart Weitzman Navigator Boots feature a low heel and quilted leather shaft. The silvertone buckle is also a nice touch.

These boots are priced at $525 from Nordstrom.

Sexy Winter Boots

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Stiletto Heel BootsIf you are looking for a pair of sexy boots this winter, don’t worry, you have a lot of options.

Instead of a pair of flat, clunky boots, choose a pair of boots with glamorous, sexy styling. Here are three fabulous choices.

Stiletto Boots
Nothing screams sexy like a pair of stilettos, and that applies to boots too. Choose a pair of boots with a thin, high stiletto heel such as these Giuseppe Zanotti croc-embossed boots.

These stiletto-heeled boots will keep your cold winter red hot. They are priced at $995 from eLuxury.com

Via Spiga Patent Leather BootsPatent Boots
Patent leather boots are very popular this year. The shine of patent keeps these Via Spiga Equis Boots sexy and glamorous. The mid-high “granny” style will make you feel like anything but a grandmother.

You can get these boots at Nordstrom for $245.

Thigh High BootsThigh-High Boots
Probably the sexiest of all boots is the thigh-high variety. This winter, wear a pair of sexy thigh-high boots with a fitted mini-dress and a pair of colorful tights. If you aren’t so daring to wear these out on the town, you keep definitely wear them in the bedroom. These stretch thigh-high boots feature lace-up backs and a five-inch heel.

These fantasy boots are priced right at only $68.25 from fantasyheels.com.

Whatever pair of boots you choose this winter, wear them confidentally. Confident women are very sexy!
