Rachel Weisz Looks Classic in Black and White

Rachel Weisz

Looks to us like Rachel Weisz is getting her holiday freak on…and she’s doing it beautifully.

In this classic sheath from designer Narciso Rodriguez, Weisz hits the Hollywood premier of her new movie Fred Claus in this black and white beauty. Now it’s no secret that we love the sophistication and simplicity of these color palette opposites, but b & w must be done in a very delicate way. If not executed properly, you run the risk of looking like the wait staff at your local fancy-pants dining establishment or provoking the nearest zoo’s zebra herd to call you “Mommy”.

Weisz (or should we say Rodriguez?) does this perfectly. It’s not nearly as common to have black be the top-half’s accent color and the skirt be white. Generally, you’ll find white on top, black on the bottom. This is a pretty cool shake-up.

We also love the disproportionate blocks of color. The small hint of black accentuates the bust line, while the longness of the white is super-slimming. With her bare legs and open-toed shoes, this look is neat and pulled together.

Want to duplicate this for your upcoming holiday parties, but you live in a cold weather climate? No prob. Just grab a white cashmere or angora cardigan and snuggle up.

Personally, we’d like to see a fancier hairdo with this and know you could do better. A sparkly hair pin or barrette would add a little glitz, but won’t overpower the simplicity of the look. A bright red lipstick and sparkly clutch would finish things off perfectly.

Now get shopping. You have a gorgeous look to duplicate.
