Stars Won’t Attend Golden Globes

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has indicated it’s very unlikely that there will be a Golden Globes Award show this year. They have reached out to the writers guild to work out a special condition to allow writers to write for the show but as of yet have not been able to work out a compromise. In addition all of the actors who were nominated and will be receiving awards are refusing to cross picket lines and standing in solidarity with the writers. The Golden Globes has said it will release an official press statement on Monday.

NBC who seems to have it’s head firmly buried in the sand says they are still planning on broadcasting the event. Should be interesting when there’s no one giving out or receiving awards.

Currently there’s no estimate of how much money the Golden Globes brings to the community for the show. Everything from travel, hotels, limousines, dresses, tuxedoes, parties, catering and countless other items.
