Looking for something especially funky to add to your wardrobe? Picking a trendy, patterned piece will add to your quirk-quotient in a hurry. Thus, this groovy print dress from Neiman Marcus earns our pick for this week’s Outfit of the Week.

At $525, it’s a bit of a splurge, but we’re certain you’ll get good wear out of it (and you may even be able to find something awfully similar on the cheap). So what does this dress have that makes us drool?

The psychedelic print. We love this print both for its coolness and for it’s camouflaging properties (just try and let someone identify your belly pouch beneath this flowy frock).
The great colors. The blues, oranges and browns play together nicely with the small shot of white, and the brown diagonal strip helps to interrupt what could be a potentially obnoxious pattern. We love the warmth and seasonal versatility of the color palette as well, and find the accessorizing opportunities to be a-plenty because of it.
The shoulder cutouts. Depending on where you work, this dress’s sexy shoulder cutouts scream sophisticated coolness. If you work in a stuffy and serious office, however, simply toss a cashmere cardie over the dress and call it good.
The silky fabric. Silk moves and works so well, we can’t get enough of it. And using this indulgent fabric as a backdrop for a pattern like this somehow softens the look and makes it more wearable.
The overall cut. As with the pattern, the overall cut of this dress is perfect for the morning after an All-You-Can-Eat Happy Hour buffet.

We’re also in love with the brown tights and shoes, noting that the addition of these ties the look together and prevents it from appearing too unruly. We’d choose a gorgeous pair of suede pumps for a kick of extra texture. A chunky ring and simple drop earring would propel our dream outfit to perfection.
