Out of the Week: Geri Halliwell
If you’re going to be fashion inspired by a spice girl, how about shoot for a Ginger look rather than the ubiquitous Posh?
Geri Halliwell recently appeared at the Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction Awards in London in a classy and sassy ensemble that boasts so much more appeal than her former singing counterpart’s overexposed and much touted fashion sense.
If you’re looking to replicate this look try the Diane von Furstenberg Keoni Batiste Dress found at Saks Fifth Avenue. Replace the Furstenberg skinny belt with the wide Michael Korrs Flat Prong Waist in bronze and gold metallic.
Miss Halliwell paired her outfit with a simple pair of gold pumps which can be found almost anywhere. This Anne Klein pair can be found at Macy’s and would be the perfect accompaniment to the ensemble. But the real fashionistas will ditch the tired pointed toe pumps and go with something a little more trendy, like the Trojan or Greek inspired Diba Belle Ankle Wrap Wedge or a sleek and sexy sandal like the Guess T-Strap Stilletto Sandal.
To finish off the look Halliwell added a large gold quilted handbag which is easy enough to replicate with this Quilted Metallic Tote sold by Newport News or the Hype Marella Leather Tote in Gold from JCPenney. The purse’s giant size is further complimented by a pair of oversized gold hoop earnings which can be found almost anywhere, but Target is generally a sure bet for simple accessories like these.
Combine all these elements together and you’ve got your very own spice outfit for an exciting night on the town.
