Salt Swimwear is a line of one-piece and two-piece swimsuits that was only developed in recent years by fashion designer Layla Pakzad. Even in the short period of time that this niche fashion line has been around, it has gained some serious attention from the media. This has been due in no small part to the fact that there are a number of celebrities who have taken a liking to the design and who can be seen spotted on the world’s most glamorous beaches wearing one of these swimsuits. Luckily for you, they’re not so outrageously priced that they’re designed for celebrities only so if you still haven’t gotten brave enough to purchase this year’s swimsuit, this might be a line that you’ll want to take a closer look at before the cooler weather is upon us.
What’s Different about Salt Swimwear?
The reason that people seem to have taken such a keen interest in Salt Swimwear is because this line of swimsuits differs a bit from what you normally see on the shelves although it has some of the basics that you’ll be looking for in a swimsuit. The difference comes from the source of inspiration for the designer who worked previously as a designer in a Malibu boutique but then traveled to Asia which is when she decided to get into swimwear design. Her work is inspired by the materials and designs of her trip to Asia and is heavily based on the fabrics that she discovered on her trip. However, her style is inspired by the high-end fashion clients that she met while working in the Malibu boutique. This combination brings an interesting flavor to her work, one that’s not seen elsewhere.
Celebrity Interest in Salt Swimwear
This unique design has captured the interest of a number of hot-bodied celebrities who aren’t afraid to bare it all on the beach in a great bikini. Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria and Mena Suvari are a few of the big names that have been spotted wearing one of the Salt Swimwear designs. The swimsuits themselves are named in such a way as to conjure up images of beautiful women. For example, some of the swimsuits are named the Claudia, the Kate and the Giselle. It’s hard not to think that these swimsuits are intended for the stars when they’re named after some of the hottest women from fashion history.
Salt Swimwear is for Everyone
Despite the fact that this unique line of swimwear has caught the attention of celebrities, it isn’t intended for the stars alone. In an interview, the fashion designer said that she feels that one of the things that really sets her swimsuit designs apart is the fact that they’re truly made for all different shapes and sizes of bodies. The fabric is highly flexible and flattering so it’s suited to people who aren’t quite as confident in their bodies as we imagine that Hollywood’s stars may be. Of equal importance is the fact that these swimsuits are affordable. They’re not cheap by any means; you’re going to pay around $80 for a good swimsuit from this collection (some are less than this and a few are considerably higher but this is the average). Nevertheless, they’re affordable for the quality of the swimsuit and the popularity of the growing line.
What’s Next for Salt Swimwear?
Salt Swimwear is a very young line that’s only been around for a couple of years but the popularity of the swimsuits has allowed for the designer to make some big plans. People interested in this designer will be happy to know that she’s working on a line of beachwear. Since she’s based in the Los Angeles area, she’s working on something that will allow for easy conversion from the beach to the nightlife scene. This is expected out in the near future and should compliment the swimsuit collection well.
Why You Would Care About Salt Swimwear
Everyone wants to hit the beach during the summer but not everyone feels comfortable squeezing into a swimsuit. The best swimwear designers are able to make really sexy designs that are going to look good on a variety of bodies. When you can wear one of those designs and know that there are celebrities out there who favor the line as well, you can feel more confident on the beach. Everyone wants to dress like a star! Since the line is affordable and there’s a lot more to come from it in the future, it’s something that the average person may take a strong interest in. Besides, everyone has to have a swimsuit in their closet right? You may as well consider getting a good one!
