Though summer is just beginning, it’s time to look ahead to fall and some of the fashion trends that are emerging for the season. When fall arrives, unpack your sweaters, coats and boots - the staples in your wardrobe. Then head to the malls, boutiques and thrift shops to find the latest in fall fashion. Select versatile pieces of clothing, jewelry and accessories that you can mix and match to stretch your shopping dollars. (more…)

Wear A Right-Hand Ring With Pride

1/2 Ct Diamond right hand ring.

They aren’t engagement rings or gifts of love. No, right-hand rings are instead an exertion of independence, a celebration of beauty, or simply a gift to one’s self. Without a doubt, they always make a statement, promising to tell the world what you want to say. (more…)

A Carved Quartzite Stephen Dweck Ring

The jewelry trend for 2008 is a take on the old adage that less is more, but bigger is louder; and loud is good. Women (and men) are opting for less jewelry but the pieces they choose are bigger, more elaborate and make a statement. (more…)

Beaded cuffs
This winter will leave you in seventh heaven, if you’re mad about beads. Beads are adorning just about everything this season from dresses to sweaters, earrings to handbags, and shoes to cell phone covers. Luckily this trend is so hot that everyone, no matter what their budget, can afford a beaded trinket.

Embellished cuff bracelets

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Even the simplest outfit can be livened up with the proper jewelry. This season, play up your gray, chocolate and other neutral ensembles with beautiful cuff bracelets.

An elaborate cuff bracelet makes a statement, which is sure to spark a topic of conversation. Here are a few of my favorite choices for fall in a variety of price ranges.

Copper Cuff Bracelet

Desert Bliss Hand Enameled Cuff Bracelet - $65.00
This bracelet from 1928 Jewelry features a great combination of copper and brown shades in a very detailed floral pattern. The cuff blends topaz-colored stones and simulated tiger’s eye. It will make a very affordable addition to your fall wardrobe.

Silver Coil Cuff Bracelet

John Hardy Dot Silver Coil Bracelet - $795
This triple coil bracelet from John Hardy features sterling silver in a very interesting dot design. Made in Bali, this bracelet is a luxury option at $795 from Saks Fifth Avenue.

Diamond Cuff Bracelet

18k White Gold Diamond Bracelet - $7,499.99
Even at half off at Overstock.com, this lavish cuff bracelet is incredibly expensive. Over 5 carats of diamonds are set in a gorgeous floral motif. If you’ve got the money, this beautiful bracelet is perfect to wear with your best evening wear.

Chunky Colorful Jewelry

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Chunky, colorful jewelry is big this season. While fashions might be tending toward greys, browns and other muted colors, jewelry and accessories in bold colors provide the perfect complement.

If you are looking for a bright pendants, bracelets and other jewelry, Fire & Ice, Inc. features an array of interesting jewelry made from gemstones and glass.

Their art glass jewelry collection offers wonderful shades of green, blue, red and purple in very dramatic pieces.

This Dichroic Glass Eight-Square Link Watch features a simple, silver rectangular face watch with vibrant chunky beads making up the band.

This watch is as a fun as it is beautiful. The variety of colors and patterns are eye-catching and will make quite the conversation piece. The watch retails for $145 and can be purchased online at fireandice.com.

They also have a bracelet made from similar glass beads in various shades of blue. The Dichroic Glass Link Bracelet pictured below is quite affordable at only $119.

These pieces would look great paired with an all black or grey outfit, along with bright shoes and a bold handbag.

Is Catherine Zeta Jones a Walking Billboard

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

catherine-zeta-jones

Ok it’s hard not to love the Catherine Zeta Jones, she’s beautiful, smart, funny and married to Michael Douglas (who used to be sexy before he started looking like my grandfather). She’s also very likeable, but is there a limit to how many products the woman can be a spokesperson for? She’s already the pretty face for Elizabeth Arden and T-Mobile and now she’s adding Di Modolo jewelry to the list. I ask you dear readers where’s the limit, can you be the front woman for too many products and companies at the same time? If she starts pitching the Baconater from Wendy’s I’m going to cry foul.

There’s a swanky prelaunch party scheduled for October 4th in New York at the companies headquarters (I’m sure my not receiving an invite was merely an oversight). Look for Catherine’s ads to start gracing the pages of W Magazine in November.
