This summer, enjoy some of these hot fashion trends. Whether you are looking for something to wear to work, out to a party, or on vacation, here are some of the latest summer fashion trends.

Don’t be afraid to try something new, whether is a funky print fabric or a trendy piece of jewelry. These fashion trends and ideas are a lot of fun. If you aren’t sure about something, don’t splurge on a high-end designer garment. Instead, choose a more affordable option until you are absolutely sure you are going to wear the trend.

Have a fabulous (and fashionable) summer!

Sapphire Maxi Dress

Maxi Dresses

You might not be hip to the idea of long dresses at first but you really should be. Everyone is wearing them! These dresses are romantic and flattering to most body types.

These full-length dresses are extremely popular right now for daytime. They are very comfortable and feminine. For daytime, make sure your dress doesn’t drag on the floor like an evening gown might. An ankle length dress is ideal. Wear your maxi dress with thong sandals, wedges or colorful flip flops.

Select a maxi dress with a halter top to accentuate your bust. An empire waist dress is normally flattering for almost anyone.

Though bold prints are very popular, they aren’t for everyone. Petite women especially may be overwhelmed by large prints. Instead choose a solid color with lace or other accents.

Angelina Jolie seems to be the queen of the maxi dress, but they are really fashionable for any woman.

This Nicole Miller sapphire maxi dress is stunning. You can get it at eDressMe for $245. If you want to try a print, this BCBGMAXAZRIA paisley-print dress is very nice. The lightweight silk dress features ruffle trim at the top and a sexy side slit. This dress is $238 from Macy’s.

Ombré Fashions

lamb-ombre-bag

Whether you call it ombré, dip dye, dégradé or a multitude of other names, it’s all the same thing. The ombré trend is when a piece of clothing starts out one color and then fades lighter or into another color.

This is extremely popular in patent leather handbags and shoes. However tops, scarves and other fashions also are hip to this lively trend.

Personally, I love the patent leather ombré bags that are everywhere. I love the look of glossy patent leather anyway and the gradient color gives it a little kick.

L.A.M.B. Ombré Patent Manchester Bag
This red bag is simply gorgeous. The shiny patent leather and ombré offer lots of style. You can order this bag from eLuxury for $495.

Chinese Laundry Ombré Clutch
For a bargain choice, check out this clutch in green or pink. This Chinese Laundry handbag is very affordable at only $66.

Beautiful Tribal inspired earrings.

Tribal Jewelry

American Indian, Mayan and other tribal influences are impacting fashion this year. From tribal jewelry, made with beads, wood, bones and other materials, to color tribal print fashions, you will find evidence of the tribal trend everywhere.

Like with most trends, you don’t need to over do it. Tribal fashions from head to toe are probably not the best look. However, you can infuse a few tribal pieces into your wardrobe for a dramatic, trendy look.

My favorite part of the tribal trend is definitely the jewelry. Stacks of wooden bangles, layers of beaded necklaces and beautiful turquoise earrings dominate the tribal trend. At Yessy you can find an array of ethnic and tribal jewelry, including African, Asian, East Indian, Mexican, Native American and other tribal pieces.

These Native American earrings are a perfect choice. These silver plated earrings feature simulated turquoise blue and red glass stones. Not only are they beautiful, but also very, very affordable at just $7.00.

Cole Haan Floral Tote.

Floral Prints

As with every spring and summer, the floral trend is here this summer. Floral print dresses, tops, skirts, bags and shoes are everywhere. Whether you choose big, bold prints or more subtle colors and designs, you can’t really go wrong with floral patterns. They are very pretty and feminine.

This summer for the beach, the pool or a cruise, a big tote bag in a floral print is perfect. These bags come in every price range and many different fabrics. Here are three top choices that you will really love.

Cole Haan Floral Tote
If you want to splurge a little bit, this Cole Haan floral tote is priced at $195. This bag would be perfect to wear with a white summer dress. The colors are nice but not too bright.

Juicy Couture Flower Tote
Instead of a floral print, how about allover floral appliques instead. This cool looking tote from Juicy Couture comes in pink, green or yellow. Get it at Nordstrom for just $95.

Straw Studios Floral Tote
You can’t go wrong with this blue and white floral tote - it’s under $40 from eBags. This big bag can hold all your essentials, whether you are headed for a day of fun in the sun at the beach, shopping, or anywhere else.

Orange Mary L. Couture Gown

Orange Fashions

From orange patent leather sandals to orange dresses, you will find orange everywhere this season. Orange is bold, bright and can be a little “too much.”

Personally, I find it hard to wear a solid orange dress … it’s just too orange. However, if you can pull it off, it’s great. Here are couple orange dresses that you may really love.

Mary L Couture One Shoulder Jersey Gown
This gorgeous dress features an asymmetrical shoulder strap and a simple silhouette. It has a slight train in the back for some extra glamor. Get this tangerine dress at Nordstrom for $248.

Vanessa Bruno Ruffle hem T-shirt Dress
This dress takes the simple lines of a T-shirt but then plays it up with the ruffly hem. You’ll definitely garner some attention in this short summer dress. You will find it at Net-a-porter for $497.

Stella McCartney Ruffle Slip Dress
This orange silk dress features tiers of ruffles. It has spaghetti straps and a sexy style. Get this designer dress from Neiman Marcus for $1,295.

If you are following some of the trends this summer, be sure to add some of your own personal style into your look too. You don’t want to look like everyone else out there.

Be a little daring. Try out new textures, fabrics and designs that you wouldn’t normally wear together. You don’t need to get too crazy, but trying something a little different is almost fun. If you are a tentative to get involved with anything bold, you can stick to the mainstays in your wardrobe and then just jazz things up with accessories.

A floral hair pin, colorful enamel cuff bracelet, pair of leopard print shoes, or bright shiny bag can take any outfit from drab to fab in no time.

Enjoy the summer fashions and warm weather while you can. Before you know it, we will all be shopping for boots, coats and sweaters once again as fall rolls around.
